Joel Grey directed the staged reading of The Normal Heart, the semi-autobiographical drama by Larry Kramer about the early years of the AIDS epidemic, to celebrate its 25th anniversary.
The reading was presented by producer Daryl Roth on October 18, 2010, at the Walter Kerr Theater. Mr. Grey appeared in the 1985 production at the Public Theater, when he replaced Brad Davis as Ned, the activist based on Mr. Kramer.
